More Americans are receiving aesthetic treatments than ever before, and that includes men. Recently, the Allergan 360° Aesthetics Report™, surveyed over 14,500 “aesthetically conscious consumers” globally between the ages of 21 to 75. The goal of this study was to garner information about aesthetic treatments and, according to Allergan, one of the reasons the market continues to grow is an increase in male interest surrounding the treatments.

So, what treatments are these men getting? Per the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), minimally-invasive treatments such as Botox have become popular options for men who want to plump or tighten areas of their face. From 2000 to 2017 alone, cosmetic treatments performed on men rose 29%, while Botox specifically has doubled in popularity since 2000 and fillers are up 99% in the same amount of time.

Facial Treatments

Facial treatments are growing in popularity for me. Facials can address any skin concern and goal, including a multitude of approaches to see the desired results. This includes peels, extractions, HydraFacials, light and laser therapies, and more. When accompanied by a diligent skincare and sun protection routine, regular treatments including microneedling, chemical peels, and facials can show positive results over time and leave skin looking youthful for years to come.

CoolSculpting

Loved by men and women alike -- CoolSculpting is a very popular non-surgical technology used to treat problematic areas of stubborn fat on the body. Areas that can be treated include the double chin, thighs, abs, love handles, upper arms, bra/upper back fat, and the area directly under the butt. The results are long term since the fat cells are permanently frozen and eliminated from your body, but it may require a few sessions to achieve the desired results.

Injectables

According to ASPS reports, in 2017 alone over 100,000 men had filler injections and half a million Botox procedures were performed. These numbers can only be expected to continue rising over time. Because injectables are minimally invasive and not permanent, these can be an attractive service for men.

Laser Hair Removal

Tending to body hair can be a constant chore, but laser hair removal can help ease the pain from waxing, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps from shaving. While the chest and back are typically the most popular areas for men, just about anywhere where there is hair can be treated.
